Things are seldom what they seem. Occam’s Razor states that the simplest solution to a problem, or the least complicated explanation for anything, is usually the correct one; not always but usually. The Razor can be used to get at the truth and uncover hidden agendas by slicing through the fog of complexity surrounding any idea, event or proposal. While occasionally the simplest explanation is not the correct one, it’s important to prove that it’s not before moving on. When evaluating investment opportunities Occam’s Razor suggests that complexity is your enemy and probably only exists to benefit those who created the deal, often at your expense.
